Athens/ Volos 29-01-2009. In the framework of the Volos Green City Program, RSEnergy has conducted the 1st Photovoltaic Symposium in Volos. The symposium was held at the Forum of the Park Hotel Volos with a focus on on-roof photovoltaic systems.
Among the participants were consumers, professionals with technical and financial background from the Volos area as well as local television and print media. 
The symposiums goal is to stimulate an open dialogue about photovoltaic investment and sustainable development. Mr. Gerovasilis, General Manager of RSEnergy opened the symposium with a warm welcome to the audience and a presentation of RSEnergy, the new PV support scheme in Greece and a profitability analysis of a 20kWp on-roof PV system installed in Volos. Mr. Papageorgiou and Mr. Bozaktsoglou, sales representatives of Schueco Greece presented the company’s activities and product portfolio in the area of photovoltaic modules and mounting systems in particular for on-roof installations. The presentation was followed by an introduction of aleo Germany with its production capabilities for photovoltaic crystalline and new thin-film modules. Furthermore the presentation contained a series of on-roof installation examples. The presentation was given by Mr. Gerovasilis on behalf of Mr. Thanasis Sakkas, sales manager aleo Greece. SMA Hellas, represented by Haris Christidis, country manager of SMA Greece, gave a very encouraging speech about SMA capabilities and quality products available for profitable photovoltaic investments. The presentations were followed by an open dialogue between the company representatives and the audience. The questions and answers continued with a small gathering after the symposium. The Volos Green City Program introduced by RSEnergy supports a sustainable development of the Volos area in view of the upcoming Mediterranean games 2013 in Volos and Larissa.
