BIPV100x100Volos, 01-12-2009 – Today, the inauguration of a special investment in solar energy production for the city of Volos, will take place at the Municipal Organization for Health and Social Issues of Volos (DOYK). The photovoltaic system includes 20 PV modules, which are integrated into the building façade so as to blend “smoothly” with its design, proving that it is possible to design and create smaller domestic photovoltaic systems that add aesthetic value. In a country such as Greece with high levels of irradiation, it is our obligation to invest in the production of solar energy, contributing to the production of energy from renewable and reducing greenhouse gases. The Municipality of Volos having realized the high importance and value of such “green” actions from local government, states this investment as being the beginning of the “Volos Green City” concept. TRSEnergy BIPV Alikes Beachhe PV system installed at DOYK building will produce more than 2.600 KWh annually and at the same time spare the environment from approximately 2.3 tons of CO2 emissions. During the first phase of the project the energy produced will be channeled to meet the energy consumption needs of the building. In the future the PV plant is planned to be connected to the grid. The PV plant was entirely sponsored by leading companies from the solar sector. The PV modules were donated by aleo solar AG, the mounting system by Schletter GmbH and the solar inverters by SMA Hellas AE. The project management, design, planning, installation and the electrical equipment were donated by RSEnergy Hellas Solartechnik Ltd.
